Rare natives of the planet have important information to impart - if the sages can decipher their cryptic message.

Divergent Paths is a great follow-up to "The Founders"! Each book is an adventure of it's own, yet Holly subtly and artfully ties in the last story as well...one feels like they are reminded of old friends, yet not bound to read the last book in order to understand or enjoy the present one. Reading the first book (The Founders) did make this one one even more fulfilling, yet there was a special uniqueness to these characters and their interactions and challenges.Holly also masterfully, without "preaching" reveals the many facets to human nature...like a gem, the myriad sides and varying reflections of character are brought forth to challenge and inspire!
Light reading for a younger audience, yet compelling to adults on a deeper level as well...I eagerly look forward to the next book!

I enjoyed this book very much. I have not read the first book the Founders, but this book proved to be astonishing in its own right. The characters were ones whom I could relate to and stand in awe at the author's ability in creating them. I love animals and her descriptions and their interaction throughout the book was enticing to me the reader to continue on. The unexplained puzzling disease was no match for the Sages and the Healers but time proved to be the suspense and I found myself on the edge of my seat several times as if it affected me persona ally. Very nice change of pace and book for me.
I received this book in a give- away and certainly appreciate the chance to read it.
After reading The Founders I was excited to read the sequel, Divergent Paths and was not disappointed. I especially enjoyed the connection between the sages and nature. Very intriguing ideas and thoughtfully written. The story line created suspense that kept me looking forward to the book whenever I got a chance to read. Thanks, Holly, for a well-written and entertaining book. I'm looking forward to book three!
Loved this book! Characters are believable, conversations are realistic, plot is engaging. Have read Barbo's first book (The Founders) and this builds on the story line established in preceding novel. Plan to get third book in this series and continue the reading pleasure.
A great sequel to FOUNDERS! Barbo has done it again! Will there be a book 3? Divergent Paths is intriguing - suspenseful - in the way that the Sages & Healers race against time to save the people from a mysterious disease. I love the way the animals that are native to OSE and the Sages can "talk" to each other to solve problems or suggest remedies. A great book in which to lose yourself. I found myself reading well into the night because I couldn't wait to see what happened.
Divergent Paths by Holly Barbo, the second book in the Sage Seed Chronicles was fascinating reading. Ms. Barbo has introduced new skills in the sage community which prove very valuable. The problems that arise in the story reflect actual problems in our society when those producing medicines or constructing buildings use sub-standard processes to ensure public safety. The government in her created planet, Ose, use quick and definitive actions to combat these problems. The investigative methods discussed through out the book are intriguing uses of sage skills. I especially enjoyed the processes of developing new medicines which are used in the story. I have certainly enjoyed both Divergent Paths and the first book, The Founders, in this series and am looking forward to purchasing book three as soon as it is available. I love Holly Barbo and the worlds she creates. Book 3 of the Sage Seed Chronicles is already in my for me to enjoy. Just like in Founders I was so swept up in her story that hours passed by before I came up for air. Even though this story takes place on another planet and in another time, the problems they face are very relatable to our own. I only wish I had a few of the gifts her sages have and that some enlightened beings would come and talk to me.
